Since 2009, Terry Kirchner has been the executive director of the Westchester Library System. Prior to that, Terry worked at The New York Public Library and Columbia University Libraries. He has a deep passion for lifelong learning – which is one of the aspects that he loves best about librarianship. Throughout his life, library resources and library staff have helped him to discover and explore new options for personal and professional growth. Most of his educational, professional and volunteer activities have focused on helping individuals to successfully function within their ever changing environments.
Over the years he has have earned several degrees: Master of Library Science, MBA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a PhD in Human Development. He also earned certificates in executive coaching and public library administration
